Carolina Benitez is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of North Carolina. Born and raised in Honduras, Carolina is fully bilingual in both English and Spanish and has been involved with the Latin American community of Charlotte for over 15 years.  She has been providing outpatient therapy to individuals, couples, and families at HG Counseling Center since 2013. She graduated with a B.A. from UNCC (2011), a Master of Arts from Columbia International University (2014), and a Doctorate from UNCC (2018). The focus of her work includes stress, anxiety, depression, anger, self-esteem, adjustment, acculturation, and spiritual issues. Carolina’s approach to therapy emphasizes the benefits of working towards holistic well-being (mind, spirit, body, community). She is also experienced in working with groups and is a trained facilitator of the Prepare-Enrich program. Carolina is currently on the faculty of Gordon-Conwell Seminary, where she is able to live out her passion for teaching and supervising counselors-in-training to serve their community.

Carolina Benitez es una Consejera Profesional (LPC) en el estado de Carolina del Norte. Nacida y criada en Honduras, Carolina es completamente bilingüe en Inglés y Español y ha trabajado con la comunidad Latina de Charlotte por más de 15 años. Desde el 2013 ofrece servicios de consejería a individuos, parejas y familias en el Centro de Consejería de Hickory Grove. Ella se graduó de UNCC con una Licenciatura (2011), de la Universidad Internacional de Columbia con una Maestría (2014) y de UNCC con un Doctorado (2018). Sus áreas de especialización incluyen el estrés, ansiedad, depresión, manejo de la ira, autoestima, adaptación, aculturación y problemas espirituales. Carolina aborda la psicoterapia desde una perspectiva holística que enfatiza los beneficios de trabajar hacia un bienestar que incluya mente, cuerpo, espíritu y comunidad. También tiene experiencia trabajando con grupos y está entrenada para facilitar sesiones utilizando el programa de Prepare-Enrich (Fortalecer Parejas). Carolina actualmente es parte de la facultad del Seminario Gordon-Conwell, donde desarrolla su pasión por la enseñanza y supervisión de consejeros en formación para servir a su comunidad.
