We desire for our HG Kids Ministry to remain strong even through this strange time we are living in! We believe that God’s Word is the prevailing element that is going to grow our children into fully maturing disciples of Jesus and that Awana is a wonderful tool to help make this happen. In order to continue this program in the safest manner possible, we will be having "Awana at Home" this fall.
WHAT DOES AWANA AT HOME LOOK LIKE?
Wednesday Nights
Awana at Home! will be available to watch every Wednesday starting at 5 PM on our website, YouTube and the HG Kids Facebook page. There will be an awesome lesson, songs, and virtual coaching to help your child learn their verses.
Handbook Coaching
This year HG Kids will offer three different options for kids to work through their handbooks: At-Home Parent Coaching, Virtual Coaching, and In-Person Coaching. You will be able to sign up for one of these three options at registration based on what you feel the most comfortable with.
Handbook Schedules
This year HG Kids has provided a schedule for each Awana handbook to help keep your child on track to finish their handbook within the year. We recognize that not all children work at the same pace. This schedule is simply an extra tool for you to use as your family sees fit.
WHAT IS AWANA?
Awana is a weekly, fun-filled program for children 3 years old through 5th grade that challenges them to memorize scripture and apply it to their lives.
AWANA AT HOME WILL BE DIVIDED INTO THREE AGE-BASED GROUPS:

WHY AWANA?
Awana reaches kids for Jesus Christ through fun, Scripture-rich experiences that lead them to know, love, and serve Him.
Kids represent the greatest opportunity to make a long-term impact on our world for Christ. Awana reaches kids where they’re at and walks alongside them in their faith journey. Kids who come to faith at an early age will discover God’s purpose for their lives and hope for the future. Ministry leaders and parents witness the profound impact Awana has in reaching kids with the gospel and watching them grow as long-term disciples. That’s why so many families and leaders have returned week after week, year after year, for more than three generations.
When parents and churches come together to intentionally teach God’s Word throughout childhood, they can move kids toward spiritual maturity, resulting in life-defining, long-lasting impact.
This is more than just a hope or a dream; it’s a reality. Awana volunteers and Hickory Grove are working to create a strong parent-church partnership that, along with the gospel and Scripture memory, helps kids to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.
