Baptist Children's Home of North Carolina
Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH) was born on November 11, 1885, when nine-year-old Mary Presson stepped off the train at the property located in the small community of Thomasville, NC. Greeted by founder and longtime North Carolina Baptist John Haymes Mills, Mary became the first child admitted into the care of the Thomasville Orphanage as it was initially known.
Today, BCH has grown from its inaugural location into a sprawling organization located in 30 communities throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Guatemala. The nonprofit, fueled by charitable funding provided by churches and donors, has added a variety of services to offer help and hope to children, families, single mothers, college students, intellectually/developmentally disabled adults, and aging adults. Christian adoption services
Christian Adoption Services’ mission is to build God’s Kingdom by connecting vulnerable children with Christian families. CAS has three programs central to its ministry: domestic adoption, international adoption, and foster-to-adopt. CAS is part of the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina, allowing them to offer comprehensive foster care and adoption services to families throughout our state.
