On Mission
At Hickory Grove, we desire for all of our members to join in the Discipleship Pathway, the fourth and final step being living On Mission. We desire that all of our church members should be disciples of Christ, but also living with Gospel intentionality with our neighbors, our nation, and the nations.
Throughout the month of October, here is how we plan to be On Mission.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1 - MISSIONS SUNDAY
During our Community Groups at both campuses, we will have a combined Adult Large Group. During this large group, Dr. Kyler Smith will teach us practically how we should be living On Mission. During our Worship Services, Pastor Clint Pressley will provide us the theological basis for why we live On Mission.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14 - WEEKEND ON MISSION
This Saturday, we will come together as a church to be On Mission to our neighbors. We will have two different opportunities: Serving our Neighbors and Reaching our Neighbors.
serving our neighbors
One way for us to reach our neighbors is through various mercy ministries, either out of Hickory Grove or local ministries we support. If you would like to sign up to take part in serving our neighbors through mercy ministries, click below.
- Clothes Closet: Help sort and prepare clothes on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; working our community shopping event on Saturday
- Car Care: Routine oil changes for single women and widows
- Hearts and Hammers (3 Projects): General yard work
- Queen City Pregnancy Resource Center: Beautification of the facility and preparation of diaper bundles. Must be college-aged or older.
- Gate Pregnancy Resource Center: Move storage bins from the current Harrisburg Location to an offsite storage facility. Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs.

REACHING OUR NEIGHBORS
Another way that we can reach our neighbors is by going into neighborhoods to share the Gospel and information about Hickory Grove. We will use this as a time to share information for our upcoming Family Trunk-or-Treat. Prior to this event, we will hold a training rally at both campuses.
