Holy Week Devotionals

Day 6

Today is Holy Saturday, the day on which all things were silent as Christ lay still in the tomb, but death would not have the final say. We look forward to tomorrow as we celebrate the victorious resurrection of Jesus.

Catechism:
Q: Did Christ remain in the tomb after His crucifixion?
A: No. He rose from the tomb the third day after His death. (1 Cor 15:3-4)

How can you pray?
- Pray that God would strengthen your faith as you consider the resurrection.
- Pray that God would use you as you seek to engage the lost around you.

Day 5

Today is Good Friday, the day that Christ paid the ultimate price for sinful man. Through Christ’s atoning death on the cross, we are reminded of the justice of God.

Catechism:
Q: What is the atonement?
A: The atonement is Christ satisfying divine justice by His sufferings and death in the place of sinners. (1 Pet 3:18)

How can you pray?
- Thank God for His death in your place.

Day 4

Christ’s death on the cross reminds us of the deep love of God to purchase sinners like you and me.

Catechism:
Q: What kind of death did Christ die?
A: Christ experienced the painful and shameful death of the cross. (Ps 22:16-18)

How can you pray?
- Ask God to reveal sinful areas within your own heart.
- Thank God for his deep love demonstrated on the cross.

Day 3

In today’s devotion, we shift our focus from the sinfulness of man to the perfect life that Christ lived while on earth.

Catechism:
Q: What kind of life did Christ live on earth?
A: Christ lived a life of perfect obedience to the law of God. (1 Pet 2:22)

How can you pray?
- Thank God for his perfect life that makes salvation possible.
- Ask God for strength to endure when facing temptation.

Day 2

Today’s catechism is a reminder that even your best efforts aren’t enough to save you.

Catechism:
Q: Can anyone be saved by His own righteousness?
A: No. No one is good enough before God. (Rom 3:23)

How can you pray?
- Is there hidden sin that you need to confess?
- Have you trusted in your own righteousness to save you? Confess that before God.

Day 1

As we enter Holy Week, we want to help you intentionally prepare your heart for Easter. Each day this week, we’ll be sharing a catechism from our March Discipleship Guide - designed to help you reflect, grow, and stay rooted in truth.
Watch each day with your family and use it as a starting point for meaningful conversation and worship together.

Catechism:
Q: What is the Gospel?
A: Holy God, in love became perfect man to bear my blame, on the cross He took my sin, and by His death I live again. (Titus 3:3-7)

How can you pray?
That this week, through time in God’s Word, you and your family would see God’s love displayed in the gospel.
