Discipleship Groups
We desire every member to gather for accountability and discussion in Discipleship Groups.
Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
A Discipleship Group (D-Group) is a small group consisting of 3-5, gender-specific church members meeting weekly or bi-weekly to foster spiritual growth through accountability and discussion.
What you do in a D-Group
- Pray for One Another
- Encourage One Another
- Confront Sin in Love
- Pursue Holiness Together
What a D-Group is not, but what it can include
- Not a Bible study but you can study the Bible together.
- Not a book club but you can read and discuss a book together.
- Not just a hangout but you can build relationships through shared activities.
Two specific things happen each time a D-Group meets:
- Accountability
Accountability begins by asking questions in four areas (Reading, Praying, Gathering, Sharing)- Reading (Bible intake): How is your Bible intake and what is one passage you read this past week?
- Reading, listening, memorizing, studying, mediation
- Praying (Prayer life): How is your prayer life and what are your prayer requests?
- Gathering (Church): Are you gathering weekly on Sunday?
- Sharing (Evangelism & Discipleship): How is your personal evangelism and who is your one? How are you making disciples at home? School/workplace? Neighborhood?
- Other areas of accountability: Marriage, Sexual Purity, Finances
